McBride sells out Klamath County Fair; First exhibitors championed

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Ten thousand people passed through the gates on the opening day of the 2022 Klamath County Fair (Thursday, August 4) and an estimated twelve thousand entered again on Friday. Many attended to watch country music legend Martina McBride perform for a sold-out house at the Klamath County Event Center and/or to cheer on their favorite youth exhibitor.

For the second day in a row, the newly expanded food court and free entertainment stage were the talks of the fair. With over 20 food and drink vendors, there is likely something for everyone.

Many 4-H & FFA market animals were shown on Friday. But only a select few can be champion. The championship drive began at 6:00 PM and when the dust settled, new swine, goats, sheep, and beef champions were crowned.

What to expect for Day 3

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 6, the Klamath County Fair continues with the third and most action-packed day of the fair. Gates will open at 10:00 AM for concessions, exhibits, and free entertainment on the outdoor stages. The Wold Amusements carnival will open at noon.

Saturday is showmanship day for the 4-H & FFA exhibitors. Friday it was about the market quality of the animal, and Saturday it is about how the youth handle the animals. Best of luck to all the talented showmen & showwomen.

The outdoor arena will be ground zero for mass vehicular carnage as the Battle in the Basin Demolition Derby revs up. Gates will open at 11:30 AM with the event starting at 1:00 PM. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids 7-12. Don’t forget your ear protection.

Headlining Saturday’s premium entertainment is Daughtry: The Dearly Beloved Tour. They will rock the inside the Event Center like none other.

Daughtry, one of the most visible and consistent Rock & Roll torchbearers of the 21st Century, has sold over 9 million albums and 16 million singles worldwide as well as selling out concerts across the globe. Their debut album, the self-titled Daughtry, was the top-selling album of 2007, producing 4 Top 20 Platinum-selling singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the fastest-selling rock debut album in Soundscan history. It was also nominated for 4 Grammy Awards and won 4 American Music Awards and 7 Billboard Music Awards including Album of the Year.  

The subsequent albums, Leave This Town (2009), Break The Spell (2011), Baptized (2013), and Cage To Rattle (2018) were all certified Gold and placed in the top 10 in the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart.

In 2020, Daughtry released their newest single, World On Fire, which marked their return to their rock roots and the top of the Rock Charts in the US.

Event Center doors open at 7:30 PM with the show starting at 8:30 PM. Tickets are $29 for general admission and $35 for the party zone. Only a limited tickets remain, get yours at any fair ticket booth or online at www.KlamathCountyFair.com.
