KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Klamath County Fair outdid themselves when they brought Daughtry: The Dearly Beloved Tour to the Klamath Basin on Saturday night. Several thousand in attendance watched in amazement as the Platinum-selling artist rocked the doors right off the Klamath County Event Center.

After the show, comments on the Klamath County Fair, Klamath Falls News, and Basin Beat Facebook pages said it best.

“The best concert ever,” commented Kami Spriggs. “He burnt it down!”

“Had the best time ever at this concert,” exclaimed Jillian George

“Incredible! It was a great show,” said Jeannie Smith

“Absolutely amazing! Loved every second of this show! Hope they have more awesome shows next year! This year’s line up was just spectacular,” Ellen Vargas commented.

Daughtry was the third of three amazing entertainers to perform in Klamath Falls this week. Country icons Rodney Atkins and Martina McBride sang their hits on Thursday and Friday respectively.

Daughtry showcased a great mix of full production songs - Desperation, World on Fire, Heavy is the Crown, as well as Dearly Beloved. Alone on an empty stage, with just a mic, simple lighting, and his guitar the American rocker included a handful of fan favorites - Waiting for Superman, It’s Not Over, Home, and Over You.

A few times throughout the show, Daughtry would exit the stage to change instruments. The crowd would quickly summon him back to center stage by chanting his name. “Daughtry…Daughtry…Daughtry!”

Fired up by the crowd Daughtry responded, “I wish we had more room on the bus. I want to take you guys with me everywhere.”

Demo Derby

The concert was not the only major event to happen on Saturday. The outdoor arena played host to the Battle of the Basin Destruction Derby. Eight cars would enter but only one would remain running as the champ.

A rumbling display of automotive adrenaline included collisions, rollovers, and even cars high-centered up on the barricade.

Sunday is Family Day

Today it is Family Day at the Klamath County Fair with free admission and special discounts in the carnival area.

Overnight fairground crews were hard at work disassembling the stage, sound, and lighting to replace with an auction ring. At noon the Rotary Junior Livestock Auction will take place. The Champion showmen, champion market animals, and all the remaining talented 4-H and FFA exhibitors/projects will be ready for the fast words and flying paddles.

In recent years, the auction has broken several records, selling over $1 million annually. This year may be no different.

Fairgrounds gates will open at 10:00 AM. Visit KlamathCountyFair.com for more information on Sunday’s events, entertainment, and activities.
