KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The quality of the Klamath County Fair has changed drastically over recent years. Once feeling like an afterthought, to now becoming the premium summer highlight in the Klamath Basin - four full days celebrating the best of the Basin with entertainment, events, food, and community.

Last night country newcomer Warren Zeiders performed inside the Klamath County Event Center. Tonight, classic rockers 38 Special will take the stage; and country legend Clay Walker will perform on the Event Center stage on Saturday.

You can take advantage of the free entertainment on the food court stage. Performances by Outlaw Mariachi and American Mile are not to be missed.

The Fairground staff has worked diligently to expand fair food offerings. This year over 30 food vendors are located throughout the grounds. Tasty fair favorites, including funnel cakes, elephant ears, deep-fried ice cream, giant corn dogs, and fry bread, are all present to tickle your tastebuds. Local favorites have also set up at the fair - Mac N Cheesesteaks, Old Town Ice Cream, Pourhorse Cantina, Bread Wagon, and Dog Father, among others.

The Wold Amusements carnival entertained a large crowd last night. They have changed ticketing to be more automated. Gone are the days of a manned ticket booth. Those booths have since been transformed into ticketing kiosks, streamlining the process and making getting on your favorite rides faster.

Wold has brought some great rides to the fair, including icons like the Zipper, bumper cars, swings, and Tornado (re-branded Black Widow). They have also returned some cherished classic kiddie rides and more modern attractions.

4-H and FFA youth began showing animals to see just who the best of the best is. Those same youth will continue to showcase their animals today and Saturday ahead of the Junior Livestock Auction on Sunday.

Don’t forget the family-friendly entertainment located at the BasinBeat.com lawn stage. Kiddle Karoo, the Rebecca Fireplug Variety Family Show, Foam Explosion, Tumbleweed Ponies, and Peppy’s Water Palooza. A free walkthrough of the Museum of Curious Things will leave you inspired, thrilled, and puzzled. And do not forget, to test your skills with axe throwing.

Fair entrance fees are $6 for adults or $3 for military, students, and seniors. Children under 12 get in free. Sunday is a free fair admission day. Gates open at 10:00 AM, with vendors and attractions open by noon.

New this year – gate fees are only being charged after 3:00 PM. If you want to go for lunch, you no longer have to pay an entrance fee for your tasty afternoon entree or snack.

If it has been a while since you attended the Klamath County Fair, now is the time to do so.
