KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - As the crisp mornings of October greet our souls and the heat of summer fades away the Klamath Falls Farmers Market will soon wrap for the season. The market will celebrate its final weeks with an October fall harvest bounty.

Held weekly on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Downtown Klamath Falls. The family-friendly open-air market has experienced a blossoming year. Local growers, producers, and artisans fill booths on both sides of 9th street between Klamath Avenue. and Main Street. Recently, the market has even expanded into the adjacent parking area Central Square.

Fresh fruit and vegetables, local meat, homemade crafts, sweets & treats, and children’s activities are just a glimpse of what attendees can expect. The addition of live music sends a pleasant wave of sound through the market.

All will soon come to a close for the season.

“The last two years have been hard because of covid so this year everyone is coming out,” said Charlie Wycoff manager for the Klamath Falls Farmers Market. “Vendors customers, out-of-town visitors. The participation this year has beat the 2019 numbers. This year we had 109 applications for vendors.”

October is the final month to stock up on these goodies, as just four weeks remain in the 2022 season. Now is a great time to visit the market for the first time or as a seasoned veteran. Spend an hour or two just wandering through the market taking in the sights & sounds, enjoying fresh locally grown produce, bakery goods, and handicrafts. It is also a great time to visit with local farmers, ranchers, friends, and neighbors while visiting the beautiful downtown area.

The farmers market was established 22 years ago when a handful of farmers that wanted to offer local products to local people.

“The event was created in the year 2000 as a farm stand with 5-6 farmers that wanted to offer more local products and they chose downtown as there was only one grocery store and high foot traffic,” said Wycoff. “In 2004 they became an organization (non-profit) and in 2009 I took it over and started expanding. What was once a street venue is now a street and parking lots venue. We are aiming for it to be a place people can gather and hang out. Visit with old friends and have their children be included.”
