KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - On Saturday, downtown Klamath Falls came alive with the thunderous sounds of classic rides and tunes of days gone by. The annual Kruise of Klamath brought 383 cars out to tickle all five senses, leaving children of all ages giddy and thrilled.

The cooler-than-average temps and sprinkles of rain did not keep thousands from coming out in attendance for the afternoon show ‘n shine.

For the third straight year, the Kruise was held on the blacktop of Main Street between 4th and 11th streets. In years past, the event was on soccer field grass at Moore Park. This year, on Friday, a small ensemble of 100ish cars returned to the park for a dinner show and to pay homage to the Kruises’ roots.

“We are very pleased with how the event went this year,” said Tyler Poteet, board chairman, Kruise of Klamath. “With 383 cars registered, Main Street was a reflection of the good ol' days with classic cars, classic music, and it was an all-around great time. “

By the time Saturday evening arrived, and the sun was low on the horizon, thousands more lined the downtown sidewalks for the evening drag around Main & Klamath.

When the dust settled, J. Knight of Chico, California, with a 1950 Oldsmobile convertible, was honored with Best in Show.

Local favorites were once again showcased in the Kruise. Yet, like Knight, many of the show attendees traveled a great distance to participate. Some traveled from as far as Southern California and Washington.

“Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and everyone that came to enjoy the event - we can't wait to see you all again next year,” added Poteet.
