‘Farm Country Snapshots’ to be shown

Historic photos of livestock, crops and ranches will be featured in “Farm Country Snapshots,” a presentation scheduled for the Sept. 28 meeting of the Klamath County Historical Society.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Historic photos of farms and ranches throughout Klamath County will be shown Thursday in a Klamath County Historical Society presentation titled “Farm Country Snapshots.”

The program begins at 7 p.m. in the back meeting room of the Klamath County Museum, 1451 Main St. in Klamath Falls.

“Last year we received a large collection of beautiful photos from the Klamath Basin Research and Extension Center,” said Klamath County Museum Director Todd Kepple. “A lot of the photos were taken just to document crop research, but there’s also a lot that portray an era of rural life that is disappearing rapidly.”

Examples include pictures of 4-H activities rural scenes, along with photos of farm equipment that has long since become obsolete.

Joining Kepple in making the presentation will be Brian Charlton, director of the Research and Extension Center. The program is free and open to anyone interested.

A brief business meeting will precede the presentation.
